Next we fly northern part of stunningly beautiful Lake Khuvsgul which is one of the deepest fresh water lakes left on the earth. Surrounded by magnificent mountain peaks and majestic forests. TRIP ITINERARY:
Day 1: Ulaanbaatar
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar and transfer to hotel. City tour including a visit to Gandan Monastery followed by a visit to the National History Museum . Traditional performance in the evening. (L,D)
Day 2: Elsen Tasarhai / Bulgan province
Drive to Bayangobi sands by a motor coach. Trekking and horse back riding in sand dunes. Visit a nomadic family for airag tasting (a traditional beverage made of fermented mare’s milk). Overnight in a ger camp. This day journey is 280km . (B,L,D)
Day 3: Kharakhorum/Uvur Khangai province
Departure for Kharakhorum. Explore magnificent Erdene Zuu monastery temples with grand examples of Buddhist iconography dating back to the 16th century. Visit archeological excavation sites of Kharakhorum ruins. Overnight in a ger camp. This day journey is 90 km. (B,L,D)
Day 4: Ulaanbaatar
Return to the capital city. After noon check in the hotel and free time. Overnight in a hotel. This day journey is 360 km.(B,L,D)
Day 5: Yol Valley / Umnu Gobi province
Morning take flight to the South Gobi province (1:20 hours). Explore the “Yol Valley” National Park in the depth of the spectacular Gobi-Altai Mountain range. Trek to deep and narrow gorge canyon with rock cliff , many years of water erosion. Besides its spectacular natural beauty it contains number of bird species and animal. Overnight in a ger camp. Day 6: Bayan Zag / Umnu Gobi province
Journey to the legendary “Flaming Cliffs” where Roy Chapman Andrews leading the Central Asiatic Expedition, found the first dinosaur fossils and eggs. Walking around Saxaul forest up to 2-9 meters and surrounded orange red rock mountains. This day journey is 45 km. Overnight in a ger camp. (B,L,D)
Day 7: Ulaanbaatar
Take flight back to Ulaanbaatar. (1:20 hours ).Visit to the Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, a home of the last Khaan of Mongolian. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 8: Khustain nuruu/ Tuv province & Ulaanbaatar
A day trip drive to the National Park of “Khustain Nuruu” to observe reintroduced takhi wild horses (Przevalski’s horse) , This day journey is 110 km . Arrive in Ulanbator and check in the hotel . (B,L,D)
Day 9: Town Murun & Lake Khuvsgul / Khuvsgul province
Morning take flight to Murun Town (1:20 hours), the center of the Khuvsgul province, and drive 100 km to the ger camp at the lake shore , time to introduce around camp area and lake ,free time . (B,L,D)
Day 10: Lake Khuvsgul/ Khuvsgul province
Full day to explore the beauty of the lake in the breathtaking hues of the sunrise, the bright daylight, and the glows of the sun setting. Opportunities for hiking and photo sessions along the lake shore also ridding a horse.
Day 11: Ulaanbaatar
Drive back to Murun Town 100 km and will take a flight to the capital city. Check in the hotel and shopping & free time. (B,L,D)
Day 12: Departure
After breakfast check out , depart to airport .
